You must be a full-time student in order to qualify for the Ventra U-Pass

Full-time students are automatically billed and provided with the Chicago public transportation U-Pass unless they opt out.

Full-time students who do not want or need a U-Pass must opt out by using the instructions on https://idcenter.uic.edu/cta-u-pass/

Students who opt-out may see the U-PASS fee assessed on their university bill, but that charge will be reversed within 7-10 business days

Getting Ready for U.S. University

Many students in the Intensive English Program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) plan to continue their studies at universities in the United States. The Tutorium’s Admissions and Advising Team helps international students prepare for the U.S. university application process while improving their academic English skills in Chicago.

Our advisors support students with:

  • Understanding the U.S. university system and how degree programs work
  • Preparing for English proficiency tests such as the TOEFL iBT and IELTS
  • Choosing universities and programs that match academic and career goals
  • Completing university applications and preparing required documents

Through personalized advising, Tutorium staff help students create a clear plan for applying to U.S. universities, including opportunities at the University of Illinois Chicago.
