About

I love learning new things and working with people from around the world, so it was no surprise to my friends and family that when I retired from my career as a lawyer, I went back to school to start a new career as an English teacher. I joined University of Illinois Chicago as an Adjunct Instructor in 2023, teaching in the Intensive English Program at the UIC Tutorium and with the International Teaching Assistants Program.

Being at UIC has given me the opportunity to invest in the lives of students at an early point in their career, helping them to strengthen their English skills and to communicate effectively across cultures so that they will be better able to function in English-based multinational educational and business environments.

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy gardening and volunteering at a cat shelter near my home. I’ve also narrated over 75 audiobooks as a volunteer for LibriVox and I enjoy working with the tech team at my church.
