1. Review the information for international students at all the schools you are interested in.
- Type “apply + University name + international student” into Google search.
- Look for the GPA, English requirement, and majors. See if this is a place you might want to apply to.
- Choose at least 3 schools (Safe, Likely and Stretch).
2. Read all the application requirements. At all universities, you will need to:
- Complete an application.
- Provide your high school transcript or transcripts from a prior university.
- These will need to be translated into English.
- Write and submit admission essays. There can be one or two or three.
- They are usually different for each university.
- Ask for letters of recommendation and be sure they are submitted.
- Sometimes have an interview.
3. To keep yourself organized, make an Excel doc (or a Google spreadsheet) with a tab for each school. Use your spreadsheet to keep track of:
- What you have completed and submitted to each university.
- What you still need to submit.
- Important phone numbers.
- Important website links.
- The usernames and passwords you had to create for each application. (Do not depend on your memory!)
