So, you found out your level placement, you found your classroom on campus, and now you found that your teacher is funny and your classmates are nice. You’re ready to study.

But, as the first week passes, you also find that there are so many papers to keep, so many files to save, and so many links to click! English is finally happening, but it’s all so confusing! How do you wrap your head around this?

Well, the key is to stay organized. Take some time right now, at the beginning of the semester, to organize and make paper folders as well as electronic folders on your laptop and Google drive. This time is well spent, and the preparation will make your life easier and happier during the semester.

To help you, here are a four tips:

  1. Keep all your course materials!
  2. 2. Separate your materials.
    • Have a different folder for each class and put handouts, homework assignments, or other materials there.

    3. Create folders on your laptop.

    • Keep files and documents from each class separate and in categories: homework, vocabulary, class handouts.
    • Name folders clearly so you know what is inside each one.

    4. Organize your Google folder.

    • Create separate folders for homework, test preparation, each writing assignment, grammar and vocabulary practice. Again, name each folder clearly (for example, “vocabulary unit 2”)

Now, you’re ready for a great semester at the Tutorium!
