Consider the Midterms Week
Why midterms are the perfect time for change
Midterms are coming. Maybe you're nervous, maybe you're confident. The semester may have been easy and fun, but at the same time, you've been working hard and seen little improvement.
While midterm week can be challenging, it can also be an opportunity. Study for the test, but don't think too hard about the scores. Instead, think back to the first half of the semester: What have you been doing? How have you been studying? What worked and what didn't?
Look at your weeks, your days, and your weekends. You may find that you haven't studied nearly as much as you should have. You may discover that what you've been doing isn't working. The main question you should ask yourself is: Do I need to change something now to successfully pass my courses by the end of the semester?
Midterm week is an opportunity for such a change. It's an opportunity to show that you can do better, study harder, and learn faster.
Try a new way you practice grammar and vocabulary outside class. Or pick up a different type of reading. Or start writing a diary. Or talk to that cute American you always see on your way to class.
Consider the midterms week, for it is your opportunity for change.
